RTITB to promote pre-use forklift truck inspections at FLTA Safety Conference 2017

To raise awareness of the importance of pre-use inspections in lift truck operations, Laura Nelson, Managing Director of RTITB, will be speaking at the FLTA National Fork Lift Safety Conference in September 2017.

According to the HSE, over 18 per cent of lift truck incidents occur as a result of mechanical failure, yet statistics obtained by the RTITB show that more than 60 per cent of operators cannot carry out and record a robust pre-use inspection. To address this, in RTITB’s conference presentation ‘Appearance isn’t everything’, Laura will look at why conducting proper pre-use inspections is so crucial for safety, and the consequences of overlooking this vital process.

Pre-use inspections are a crucial part of the training we provide and we have a blog article on our website regarding the importance of carrying out these inspections, see link below:

We can also supply pre-use inspection booklets for reach and counterbalance trucks and pedestrian stackers.  Each booklet contains 32 pages so will last just over a month if you are using just one page per day.  For further information on how to order, see link below or call us on 0800 024 8084.
