We had an interesting visit to Banbury Museum last Thursday with the Banbury & District Chamber of Commerce. The museum is situated on the Oxford Canal opposite Tooley’s historic boatyard.
Simon Townsend, the Museum’s Director, told us about the current development work which is going to reconfigure the ground floor of the museum and introduce the new PYE gallery. The exhibition space will be nearly 40% larger than the current space and will enable the museum to accommodate a wider range of national touring exhibitions from major museums and collections. We also had an interesting talk from Gordon Sparkes at SEMLEP (South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership). SEMLEP offers support for new and existing businesses in a number of ways, eg, free consultations, business start up and business growth workshops and by providing grants for capital and revenue to assist in expanding businesses.
