From 1st September 2018, the Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA) have updated the basic operating skills test for Counterbalance and Reach trucks. This has been amended following feedback from the industry.
The ABA is administered by the member bodies who allocate representatives to attend on their behalf. The member bodies are as follows:
AITT – Association of Industrial Truck Trainers
ITSSAR – Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register
RTITB – Road Transport Industry Training Board
NPORS – National Plant Operators Registration Scheme
There will be an annual review of these tests based on feedback from ABA members during the year.
We have updated our paperwork to meet the new testing standards. The main key change on the test marking sheet is that the fault “touches course/racking/load” has now had the penalty increased to 5 points.
