On Saturday 6th April, 8 ladies took place in a forklift experience session at our training centre at Apollo Park, near Banbury. As part of the International Women’s Day 2019 campaign theme #BalanceforBetter, we are encouraging ladies to come and have a go at driving a forklift truck through a series of experience sessions being held this year.
We would like to thank all the ladies who attended this event and made it possible. As well as having an enjoyable morning, we are also delighted to be able to raise money for local charities and our first event has raised £320 for Katharine House Hospice, near Banbury (https://www.khh.org.uk/).
We visited Katharine House Hospice with Banbury & District Chamber of Commerce last year and we were amazed by the range of facilities on offer to patients and their families/carers. We are very fortunate to have this wonderful residence near Banbury and we hope to be able to support them through future fundraising activities.
Some of the comments from the ladies who attended on Saturday are as follows:
“Thank you for a fabulous morning. Loved the chance to do the figure of 8 on the forklift and attempt the stacking. Would love to do it again”
“Very comprehensive training given, full and clear explanations and guidance given. Very enjoyable experience and 5 star teaching”
“Had a great morning, really enjoyed this experience, Would definitely recommend to others”
Our next ladies experience session will be on Saturday 22nd June 2019. This will be to raise money for Aspire Oxford (see our recent blog article regarding their work – https://stackerstraining.co.uk/working-with-aspire-oxford/).
